Join a Dynamic Equine Sports Medicine & Imaging Team

Virginia Equine Imaging is seeking a motivated, skilled Veterinary Technician to join our growing equine sports medicine and diagnostic imaging practice. We provide advanced diagnostics and performance-focused care both at our clinic and through our mobile service to top-level sport and performance horses throughout the region.

This position offers a unique blend of in-hospital case management and on-the-road sports medicine support — perfect for a technician who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with performance horses and their teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with lameness exams, diagnostic workups, and sports medicine procedures
• Perform and assist with digital radiography, ultrasound, and other advanced imaging modalities
• Safely handle and position equine patients in clinic and field settings
• Prepare, maintain, and transport mobile imaging equipment
• Maintain detailed medical and imaging records
• Support regenerative medicine procedures
• Provide professional communication with clients, trainers, and referring veterinarians
• Ensure high standards of safety, biosecurity, and equipment care

Qualifications:

• Current Virginia LCVT license (preferred, but not required)
• Experience in equine practice (sports medicine experience preferred)
• Strong horsemanship and confident horse handling skills
• Ability to work independently in mobile settings
• Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills
• Comfortable with travel and flexible scheduling
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in barn and clinic environments
