Moore Equine Dental Services is seeking a motivated veterinary technician to assist Dr. Moore in advanced equine dental procedures and daily practice operations.

This role includes assisting in dentals and surgeries, monitoring sedation, handling horses, client communication, inventory management, and maintaining our clinic. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team are essential.

Equine experience preferred. Must be organized, professional, proactive, and comfortable working with horses. Travel occasionally required.

Position Overview

The Veterinary Technician will work directly alongside Dr. Moore in daily clinical operations. This role combines hands-on technical skills, patient care, client communication, team coordination, inventory management, and operational support.

The ideal candidate communicates clearly and professionally with both clients and team members, maintains a collaborative attitude, and contributes positively to the overall efficiency and culture of the practice.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical & Team Support

• Assist with routine equine dental procedures
  
• Assist with advanced equine dental surgeries
  
• Monitor and track sedation
  
• Prepare dental equipment and surgical instruments
  
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures
  
• Accurately document treatments and medications
  
• Communicate clearly with Dr. Moore and team members throughout procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
  
• Anticipate procedural needs and proactively support workflow
  
  

Client & Team Communication

• Communicate treatment plans and post-procedure instructions clearly and professionally
  
• Answer client questions with confidence and clarity
  
• Collect payments and manage invoices
  
• Maintain consistent, respectful, and professional communication with the entire practice team
  
• Participate in team discussions to improve workflow and patient care
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Veterinary technician experience (equine preferred)
  
• Comfortable handling horses independently
  
• Strong organizational skills
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with veterinarians, team members, and clients
  
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
  
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass a drug test before hire
