We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our practice! CA qualified RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) preferred but an individual with extensive experience may be considered. We are a mobile equine sports medicine practice with a focus on elite hunter/jumper and dressage clients and horses. We do have an outpatient facility used for trailer-in patients for diagnostics, lameness and regenerative treatments. This is a unique, small "boutique", client and medicine-focused practice with the latest modality practice equipment available. We are three partner veterinarians with an international reputation and clients.
Candidate must have extensive horse experience! Experienced and knowledgeable horsemanship required including comfort with equine safety and restraint, but sport discipline can be diverse.
Responsibilities include: assist the Doctor in medical procedures, ultrasound, radiography, medical records, client relations and scheduling. Technician is responsible for independent work including adjunctive therapies such as shockwave, FES and patient monitoring for all aspects of the practice. Must be able to type medical notes while being a passenger in truck, and be familiar with medical protocols and equine medical terminology. This position requires occasional travel.
Must be able to anticipate- fifty percent of job is what you are asked to do and fifty percent is what you see needs to be done.
The candidate must be professional, confident, flexible, highly motivated, extremely organized, punctual, be able to multi-task and show initiative. An outgoing personality and a positive outlook on life and work a must.
The applicant must have excellent office skills, communication skills and a very solid computer/technology proficiency (Practice software and AI dictation) .
Salary and benefits are at the top of the industry and commensurate with experience. Medical Insurance re-imbursement, CE paid benefits, mileage and expense reimbursement if personal car is used. Hours are coordinated with practice appointment schedules, 40 hr/wk with paid overtime (if encountered per CA employment laws). Expect some 6 day work weeks (and overtime during show circuits) but a healthy work -life integration is at the core of who we are and how we practice.
Please send a resume and a short explanation as to why you would be a good fit for our practice. What sets you apart as a candidate? Applications will be treated with privacy and no references contacted without applicant’s consent.
Please send CV/resume to: Kelly Lothringer, IlluminX Consulting
All experienced candidates will be considered but preference for a credentialed applicant is preferred. We are seeking an individual to grow their career, work at the top of their license and have independent (and legal) ability to interact with clients and horses. We are a small but mighty practice with clients at the leading edge of the sport and have a mindset of elite care and attention to their medical needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. You will be part of a small team that is centered on respect, professionalism and success.
