Are you the one we’re looking for? Here’s what you offer:
A love for horses and a commitment to their well-being
The experience to safely handle horses of all ages
A Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or Veterinary Assistant experience with equine patients
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Continuous learning and development opportunities
A chance to be part of a passionate and dedicated team
Daily duties:
6 a.m.: Arrive, clock in, and hit the ground running. Conduct a quick survey of all hospitalized patients, identifying and addressing any urgent needs like colic pain or IV issues.
Getting the lowdown: Review overnight technician notes and treatment sheets to prepare for the day’s tasks.
Treatment time: Administer medications and treatments according to schedules, prioritizing isolation patients and collaborating with other team members as needed.
Making rounds: Attend both technician and doctor rounds, actively participating and bringing up any pertinent observations about your patients.
Giving surgical support: Lend a hand to our surgery team by prepping horses for procedures, ensuring patients are ready to go.
Keeping things on track: Throughout the day, continue scheduled treatments, ensure veterinarians review treatment sheets, and verify accurate invoicing for all procedures and medications.
Maintaining patient comfort: Keep stalls, water and feed sources appropriately refreshed and clean, groom patients and make comfort adjustments.
Making patient updates: Keep the veterinarians informed of any changes in patients’ conditions, ensuring the horses’ well-being is always top priority.
Prepping patients for hospital discharge: Schedule and ensure all go-home appointments are complete, including sending medications and belongings with departing equine friends.
Maintaining the hospital: Alongside your team, keep the hospital ward clean, tidy, and functional – from sweeping aisles to stocking hay and keeping treatment areas organized.
Being a team player: Assist with lunch coverage and collaborate with the Inventory Manager to maintain medication and supply stock. You will be working alongside a great team that collaborates and understands how to jump in and help anyone with anything to get through our busy days.
6 p.m.: Clock-out after rounding your patients to the hospital intern doctor.
Being an on-call hero (future you): Once trained, you’ll join our on-call rotation for an average of 4 to 6 shifts per month
