What you will be doing:The Assistant State Veterinarian supports the state’s veterinary programs to control and eradicate communicable animal diseases, to regulate the production and distribution of dairy products, and to regulate growing, harvesting, packing, and holding of produce.  This position manages the Grade ‘A’ Dairy program, the Produce Safety program, and the Animal Disease Traceability program.  The Assistant State Veterinarian also investigates animal morbidity and mortality events, and manages voluntary disease certification programs such as tuberculosis, brucellosis, and chronic wasting disease, in accordance with state regulations and federal program standards.  This person is responsible for grant and cooperative agreement applications and managem
