Established as LaSalle Veterinary Clinic in 1979 by Drs Tim Slobojan and John Erfle. The practice served both large and small animal clients but primarily beef and dairy cattle ranchers. As cattle numbers declined the practice saw increasing numbers of horses. By 1994 the practice case load was 95% equine and the name was changed to LaSalle Equine Clinic. A new designated equine hospital was built in 2002. The current caseload remains around 95% equine, the balance comprised of cattle and small ruminants. Dr. Slobojan retired in 2000. Dr. Genovese joined the practice in 2006 and became a partner in 2017. Dr. Erfle has transitioned into retirement but is available for consultation when needed. LaSalle Equine Clinic's mission is to further the enjoyment of the horse for owners, trainers, and equine enthusiasts by providing exceptional veterinary care, community leadership, and education while building lasting relationships between owners and their animals, and their veterinary team. The practice excels in all aspects of equine practice including lameness, medicine, reproduction, and dentistry. The practice sees animals at its hospital and in the field with well-equipped ambulatory v...ehicles. The practice campus includes a 7000 sq ft hospital featuring separate outpatient and inpatient exam/treatment rooms, a spacious OR, and an adjoining I/R room. Also, included is an indoor round pen for lameness evaluations, a four-stall ICU ward and farrier work area, and isolation facilities in a separate building. LaSalle is a three-doctor practice with 10-14 employees.
